Steve Porter’s – Night Sky Photography Workshop
You will be working directly with Steve Porter as you learn to photograph the stars and night skies over two remote locations in the desert southwest. The shooting locations will be determined together as our workshop discusses a variety of locations based upon anticipated sky conditions, foreground subjects and travel distance. Prior to beginning our shoot at the first location we will be covering many of the various technical aspects of shooting the stars to ensure you are able to get that awesome Milky Way shot you are hoping for. Shoot locations may involve off-trail desert hiking, so please bring the appropriate shoes and attire.
Our group will meet at 3:00 PM Thursday afternoon for initial in-class training in Mesa before planning out and departing for our first site. Friday and Saturday instruction will include time to work on your own images with specific one-on-one guidance from Steve using Lightroom CC 2015.8 and Photoshop CC 2017 - so for best results, bring a laptop loaded with current software versions.
The workshop will continue through the lunch time frame on Saturday until 4:00 PM with a simple lunch provided as our photography discussions and processing instruction continues.
