On Jan. 8 we will caravan to the Desert Museum in Tucson, considered one of the best museums in the United States with its emphasis on desert animals, birds, plants, minerals all native to the Sonoran Desert. There are docents throughout to enhance your experience. We will overnight in Tucson and in the morning, after breakfast, head out to Kartchner Caverns, the largest cave formation in the state of AZ. This is an opportunity to combine 2 of the best attractions in the Tucson area in one trip. The trip will be limited to 14 cars, so please sign-up ASAP. See a timeline of details of the trip below.
1. We will meet at 7:45AM on Saturday, Jan 8 at the McDonald's parking lot at the Pavilions Shopping Mall.
2. We will drive directly to the Desert Museum in Tucson (making a pit stop in Casa Grande) and should arrive at the Museum at 11:00 AM.
3. Participants will go through the Desert Museum at their own pace and may have lunch at their cafeteria style restaurant. (Ironwood Terrace)
4. Participants proceed to designated hotel in Tucson and assemble at 6:30pm in hotel lobby to go to dinner at nearby restaurant in Tucson.
5. Sunday, Jan. 9, enjoy gym facilities at hotel and included breakfast. Leave for Kartchner Caverns after breakfast. (Time to be determined by Kartchner reservations).
6. Enjoy the Caverns, and then have lunch at Benson restaurant.
7. Home.
All details as to names of restaurants and hotel will be filled in later, but I think this is enough to announce trip and take reservations.
