The event will take place in Heriot Watt University - room CR-01-3LW.
The first part of the event will deal with the annual general meeting of the Institution of Structural Engineers, followed by a CPD talk on "Engineering our future".
In this wide-ranging talk, Paul Mullet will discuss how typical evolutionary patterns make anticipating change difficult and how the opportunities presented by the accelerating pace of technology can be used to breakdown historical barriers to innovation. Paul will explain how digitization of the industry and the adoption of exponential technologies such as 3D printing, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence and Virtual Reality will ultimately transform the industry. Paul will challenge the audience to consider their personal role in moving the industry forward in an uncertain, but promising future.
