Dr. Tara Fahmie is an Associate Professor and Associate Director of the Severe Behavior Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Munroe Meyer Institute. She previously held an appointment as associate professor at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). She earned her master’s degree from the University of Kansas and her PhD from the University of Florida. Dr. Fahmie is a BCBA-D and has over 15 years of experience implementing behavior analysis with various populations in clinics, schools, and residential settings. Her main area of expertise is in the assessment and treatment of severe problem behavior; she has conducted research, authored chapters, and received grants for her global work in this area. Her initial interests in the functional analysis of problem behavior and acquisition of social skills in young children led to her emerging passion for research on the prevention of problem behavior.

Scott Herbst, PhD, BCBA got his doctorate at the University of Nevada, Reno where he studied Organizational Behavior Management (OBM), Relational Frame Theory (RFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Training. As a graduate student, he facilitated workshops targeting stigma and is a co-author on numerous ACT publications. He has since designed and facilitated dozens of experiential ACT workshops that participants reliably report make a profound difference in areas of personal importance including relationships, career, leadership, family, and leisure. His mission in life is that people live life in the driver’s seat, they know where they’re going, and they love the ride.

Dr. Jordan Belisle is an associate professor in the Psychology Department at Missouri State University. In the first 5 years of his faculty, Jordan has published over 80 peer-reviewed research studies and book chapters and has co-authored two books, including Research Methods for Practicing Behavior Analysts and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Behavior Analysts. His research lab, Humans Understanding Behavior (HUB) is dedicated to exploring complex topics of the human condition. In basic research, Jordan developed relational density theory as an extension of relational frame theory to account for self-organization in human language and cognition. His recent translational research has utilized this approach to model relational behavior within oppression of women, racial groups, and challenges related to climate change. In practice, he helped to develop the PEAK Relational Training System and is currently applying this and other technologies to support children and adolescents with mental health and behavioral challenges. His vision is for an expanded field that adequate to address the complexities of human experience and to make the world better for all people.
