IOSH Networking Night - DfS Talk by Philip Baker 11 Jan 2017

Dear IOSH Members,

IOSH Singapore Branch is delighted to invite you to join us for an IOSH Networking Night. IOSH Singapore Branch is pleased to have Mr Philip Baker to give us a talk on Design for Safety.

Mr Philip is a structural engineer by training and has been involved in health and safety and CDM since 1994.  Philip has provided support to all CDM duty holders but has majored in Planning Supervisor/CDM Co-ordinator/Principal Designer.  He is a recognised authority on Prevention Through Design and has delivered papers on the subject around the world.  Philip has worked on a wide range of projects and is currently Principal Designer on the Northern Line Extension to London's underground system, 2 farm based anaerobic digesters, 3 'green energy' installations, one at Imperial College and provides health and safety support to Britain's largest painting and decorating contractor.

Mr Philip is also the Chair of IOSH's Construction Section in the London Metropolitan Branch area and a member of the London Metropolitan Executive Committee.  Philip is also a member of the IOSH Construction Committee and a Member of Council.  In addition, Mr Philip is a Past President of the Association for Project Safety, Chair of the Institution of Structural Engineers' Health and Safety Panel and co-opted to the Institution of Civil Engineers' Health and Safety Expert Panel.  At European level Mr Philip is leading the Working Group creating the Performance Standard for Construction Co-ordinators at the International Safety and Health Construction Co-ordinators Organisation.
