Python is a general-purpose high-level programming language, designed to be easily read. Python is used as the primary ArcGIS scripting language to perform geoprocessing and map production tasks. This course introduces the Python scripting syntax and shows how to use scripts to access and automate geoprocessing tasks. You will also work with ArcPy, an Esri-developed site package for Python that integrates Python scripts into ArcGIS Desktop.
PREREQUISITE: You must have prior ArcGIS experience. If you have never done any ArcGIS Python scripting, then you need to take the ESRI online course "Python for Everyone Using ArcGIS 10.x" before attending this workshop.
