Theme: East meets West, West meets East
Today, more and more architectural practices work internationally. How do the architects adapt their concepts & designs to different and unknown locations? Do they start with research to better understand the new location? Does these research & design finally lead to innovations?
We will develop this theme on three different scales: Worldwide we invited Japanese architects from the Far East who work in the West. On European scale will learn from Slovenian and Hungarian architects who work in Eastern & Western Europe. On the scale of the city Dutch architect Ben van Berkel will show a.o. his winning project of the new Danube bridge which will connect East & West Budapest.
