Most people who live with depression experience a significant reduction in self-esteem and motivation. In this training, we will take a holistic look at depression and develop skills for treatment planning that incorporate techniques of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy and motivational interviewing.
Using a comprehensive strengths-based model of treatment planning, the focus of this training is to equip you, the clinician,to support your clients in building strengths, motivation, and skills to manage their depression and make positive changes that endure.
At the close of this training, you will receive a set of worksheets to guide your clients in developing skills and strategies to complement your treatment planning and interventions.
You will receive 6 CE contact hours after completing this live in-person course and submitting the course evaluation. CE's are offered to licensed social workers in NY and the states/jurisdictions listed here.

YOUR TRAINER
Dawn E. Shedrick, LCSW-R is the founder of JenTex Training & Consulting. She brings two decades of social work and training & development experience to her work. She loves the versatility of the social work profession and has extensive experience in case management, community health education, advocacy, mental health education and treatment, chemical dependency, cultural competence, supervision and administration and private psychotherapy practice. She has worked with people living with HIV/AIDS, those enduring hunger and homelessness and the LGBT community.
Dawn has designed and facilitated professional development workshops across the United States in various settings including conferences, panel discussions, professional meetings, community-based organizations, civic associations and government service organizations.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading biographies and memoirs of notable women, traveling the globe, knitting and cuddling with her two pooches.
