The Puget Sound Chapter of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology and the Washington State Department of Health are pleased to offer a one day intensive workshop on Injection Drug Diversion in Healthcare.  The workshop will include presentations from national experts on drug diversion, blood borne pathogens, infection prevention’s roles and responsibilities and public health response, impaired provider resources, and a first-hand account from a patient who acquired hepatitis C during healthcare.

On completion of this workshop participants will be able to:

  • Understand and promote the facility infection preventionist as an important collaborator in diversion investigations.

  • Identify three stakeholders in their communities/facilities who should be involved in drug diversion investigations.
