Industry Impacts of Ransomware
Thursday March 16 | 10:00 - 11:00 AM ET

Ransomware is not new but quickly escalated to a respectable threat grabbing the attention of the media and routinely making headlines. This session will examine a case study of RSA handling ransomware on an ICS network in coordination with the FBI and then discuss the real impact of ransomware; an expanded threat landscape not previously targeted and new threat actor methodologies. Advancements in ransomware variants and new future threats will be discussed as well recommendations for working with federal agencies during incident response efforts.

Mark Stacey is an advisory consultant with RSA’s Incident Response team. He has over 12 years of experience working in government and private industry. His current role is assisting organizations with the detection of compromise through triage and hunting methodologies as well as network and host forensics and malware analysis to support incident response efforts.
