The Virginia Army National Guard presents its Inaugural Retiree Appreciation Day. This event, sponsored by the State Enlisted/Officer Associations and the Virginia Defense Force, both recognizes and provides one-stop services for our valued Retired Force as well as any military personnel (current or separated) and DoD Civilians. The recognition ceremony will include the posting of The Colors and National Anthem by the VaARNG Funeral Honors Team and 29th ID Band respectively, short presentations by the State Historian and Enlisted Association President, a Roll Call (by Branch), a moment of remembrance for Retirees known to have passed away in the last twelve months, and remarks from The Adjutant General. Upon completion of the ceremony, attendees will be able to visit our Supporting Partners to get first hand services and information. Some of our Supporting Partners will be Veteran Affairs, Tricare, Defense Finance Accounting Services (DFAS), Department of Motor Vehicles, Social Security, Veterans of Foriegn War (VFW), Virginia Defense Force, Bellwood Credit Union, DLA Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Dominion Energy, Embrace Home Loans, VaARNG Recruiting and Retention, JAG, VaARNG Family Programs and Transition Assistance, with more Supporting Partners to come. The VAARNG Enlisted Association will provide a light lunch starting at 11am. Come out and be a part of this first time event. Active duty personnel, Separated Former Servicesmembers and any Dod Civilian with a Government ID/CAC are welcome to join Retired Servicemembers for this celebration!
