This course will look to build on theoretical knowledge and concept and listening and development of big bands and literature. Based on experience, knowledge and interest of the participants, we will deliver and discuss relevant topics and concepts associated with soloing mindset and useful strategies to meet with success. What are some of the transitional elements of the eras and who was responsible for expanding from the previous generation? What ideas or elements are these musicians using to come up with this material? What are some exercises I can use NOW to move to the next step? If these are questions that you've thought of or hoped to one day know the answer to, this course is for you. Student engagement, assignments, playing and listening will all be part of this course.
