ICE Qatar Learned Event
‘Anticipated changes to the FIDIC suite of contracts’ by Paul Prescott (Legal Director) & Daniel Goodwin (Senior Associate) of Pinsent Masons
Qatar 18th April 2017
6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Doha Exhibition and Convention Center – DECC
Overview
FIDIC has issued a pre-release version of the amended new edition of the Conditions of Contracts for Plant & Design Build (commonly known as the FIDIC Yellow Book) and this has introduced significant changes to the previous 1999 edition. It is expected that there will be new editions of the FIDIC Red Book and the Silver Book which are to be published later this year.
At this presentation, he will analyse and highlight the changes to the FIDIC Yellow Book and consider how they are likely to affect contractors operating in the Middle East. Our aim is to encourage discussion and engagement on the critical issues that may affect your future projects as a result of these new changes.
This month’s ICE Learned Event brings with it the added incentive of visiting the 7th edition of Qatar’s Motor Show, also taking place at DECC and also free to attend. The theme for this year’s event is ‘Driving toward Innovation’. April 18 will be the first day of the show which is open until 10pm, so that will leave plenty of time after the presentation to take a wander with your fellow ICE enthusiasts through what promises to be an impressive exhibition.
