ICE Qatar invites you to attend  a session on ‘Behaviour of deep excavations in Doha’ on Tuesday 12 April 2016 at 6:30 pm. The venue is Atkins.

With the major infrastructure projects in Doha executed over the last 5 years, there has been many lessons learnt from analysis, design, constructing, and monitoring deep excavation in Doha.  This presentation looks at the selection of geotechnical parameters suitable for design, optimised design solutions, and expected ground movements associated with excavations.

Key learning points:  Suitable geotechnical design approaches for deep excavations and suitable lateral support systems

Austen Easterbrook is a Chartered Civil/Geotechnical  Engineer with 25 years consultancy experience.  Having worked as temporary works designer, in Australia and Hong Kong, Austen moved to Qatar in 2014 and has been in his current role since then.  Austen manages the geotechnical division of Atkins in Doha, and is discipline technical lead of a number of projects in Doha.
