I don’t want to work with addicts!

Therapists’ concerns about treating people in the grip of an addiction

A Zoom presentation by Eugene Goldwater, M.D.

Understanding addiction is easy.

Treating it is simple.

But many of us feel helpless and hopeless when faced with the reality of this condition. Why are these feelings so easily induced? How are we to cope with them?

What do we not want to know?

What you will learn (unless you don’t want to!)

1. Three pillars of connection, and what gets in the way of building them.

2. Roads to burnout and roads to fulfillment.

3. How treating others helps us to treat ourselves—and vice versa.

Yes, I will also tell you what causes addiction, and how to treat it. Piece of cake—except for those pesky induced feelings!

Objectives:  Participants will be able to discuss the following:

1. Three pillars of connection, and what gets in the way of building them.

2. Roads to burnout and roads to fulfillment.

3. How treating others helps us to treat ourselves—and vice versa.

Date: Saturday, November 19, 2022 Time: 10:00-11:30 AM
