What is it?
Honey Day is a backyard barbeque hosted by Not My Boys, a local website. The purpose of Honey Day is to allow families an opportunity to get together in a low cost and stress free environment for fun and fellowship, while at the same time supporting a charitable cause. See old friends and meet new ones. What is the charity? Not My Boys subsidizes the costs of this event, so the proceeds go to charity. This year the charity is FAVOR. FAVOR Greenville exists so that everyone affected by substance use disorders in the Upstate region of SC has a fighting chance at recovery. Will it be different this year?Yes. It will be a "walk thru" for you to pick up an essential good (food for your family) in compliance with existing state requirements. Why Not Postpone It Again?Great question. We don't know when we could have a "regular" Honey Day - we would just be guessing and it could be many months from now. And, there is a looming pork shortage of unknown duration, and you know the barbecue is the star.Location211 Rockingham Road, Greenville, SC 29607 (just in case you missed that above)ParkingYou are free to park on either side of the road. Please do not block the neighbors' driveways.Time of ServiceBelow are the suggested times to arrive to be served. It is OK if you come earlier or later, this just helps us try to avoid a long line. There will be plenty of food regardless.6:00-6:15Last name/first name of corporate sponsor:S-Z6:15-6:30M-R6:30-6:45G-L6:45-7:00A-FDo I Need A Ticket? You don't need to bring the actual printed out ticket, we have your name on a list. If you bought a ticket, just tell your name at the check-in table in the driveway. If you are coming as part of a sponsorship, tell the sponsor's name at the check-in table. We cannot accommodate walk-ups.Are Tickets Still For Sale?As of now, yes.How the Food Line Will WorkThe queue will form down the driveway, from the road to the bottom. The food line will be at the bottom of the driveway. Please only bring one person from your group down the driveway if at all possible. We understand this might not be possible. There will be tape on the driveway in 6 foot increments to help maintain physical distance between patrons.Stay to your right the entire time (enter on your right, go through the food line, leave on your right).Food ServiceWe will serve the food, wearing masks and gloves. This includes saucing the meat as you request. We will have four sauces (a tangy red, vinegar and pepper, white, and mustard-based).Food will be served in "to go boxes" since we know you will be taking it home to eat. We are not including plastic cutlery because we are confident each of you have cutlery at your homes.EntertainmentSpencer Rush and his microphone will keep the line moving. What If It Is Raining?Bring an umbrella. Honey Day is rain or shine.DedicationHays Reynolds was an original Not My Boy and he would have been 42 on May 9; Honey Day III is dedicated to his memory. This was not how we wanted the third installment to unfold, but we have all been impacted in so many ways we never expected. All proceeds this year are being donated to FAVOR Greenville to help those battling addiction, which is especially challenging during these solitary times. If we have significant food leftover we will donate it to Project Host, as available. If you are unable to attend and would like your charitable donation returned to you, please respond to this email to let us know.Thank you again to all of our patrons, and especially our sponsors and other supporters listed below who have stayed with us. And Happy Mother's Day!Not My Boys
