Holy Week Silent Retreat

Monday, March 26 - Wednesday, March 28, 2018

Retreat Description: Examining the last days of Christ's life, this silent retreat will focus on His betrayal, suffering, and death. These painful events inform our own struggle through difficult relationships, unstable health, times of uncertainty, and the search for that illusive thing called hope. All suffering finds its redemption in Christ's suffering. This is the lesson of Holy Week.

No formal reflections will be given by the leader. Directed quiet activities will be available and the group will meet to share discoveries. The intention is to give the Holy Spirit room to guide, direct, and instruct each participant as is best for them. The desert silence and the liturgies of the monastery will provide an environment where the space between us and God becomes thinner.

Please note this retreat is conducted Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of Holy Week. It is intentionally designed to give participants the opportunity to retreat during Holy Week, without missing their own parish's observances of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday.
