Children's social emotional health thrives on being seen, heard, and validated. With the right approach, sharing a 'hard truth' children's book can help build children's resilience and empathy, while scaffolding critical thinking skills. Join Anne Peel, Associate Professor of Literacy, at The College of New Jersey to learn about best practices in using children's literature to teach SEL.. Resources will include models of lesson activities, text set collection ideas, and links for advocating for challenged books to be included in the curriculum.
