How to handle office politics Training

Keep Positive

It is very difficult to hate someone who is always smiling and laughing. If you're positive, cheerful, and make jokes that are fun, it is much easier to attack you in gossip and rumours. People who are positive and display positive politics are less likely to be victimized by negative politics. When we talk about politics, it is important to distinguish between positive and detrimental politics. Negative politicking involves gossiping, spreading rumors, and making others feel bad while using others to their advantage. Positive politicking involves supporting others in their work, creating a positive atmosphere in the office and being professional. Participants learn how to stay positive using simple skills and tools.

Take a look at what you have to say

Rumourgossip are the primary weapons of choice for negative office politicians. Their weapon is easy to turn against. It requires fuel. Information that could damage a person's work reputation is one example. "Having dirt on someone" refers to how a negative office politician uses influence and favors. It can be stopped by cutting off their fuel source. It is important to disclose any personal information you have about yourself and assume that they will share it, regardless of how trusting you are with your workmate. It is just a promise to keep it confidential that they make to get you to reveal sensitive information that could be used against you. You can also cut down on their fuel by not engaging in gossip or spreading rumours. It doesn't matter if someone shares it with you. But, you need to consider whether the claim is credible. Then, you must never share it until you are certain it is true. This will not harm anyone within the company. Let's talk about how to talk positively in the workplace. Support company goals and speak positively. But, never be aggressive. Do not whine or complain about the company. However, be confident in your ability to meet their needs. You should always consider the company's perspective when you voice an objection or criticism. They cannot accuse you of being biased or selfish. More examples and tools are provided to aid communication.

Never play negatively

Participants will be provided with examples and techniques for dealing with negative play. As we have already discussed, the game for office thrones can be played with either negative or positive politics. Many good workers are fired or laid off by negative office officials, simply because they don't want to be involved in office politics. While you might not have the greatest power in an office, you can still exert considerable influence even if you are lower up the company ladder. This is where the key lies: Play the politics game, but not with those who are negative. Negate what they throw at your head and play the game positively. Even with the negative politicians, be positive and get to know them. This will allow you to strategize for the possible attacks they may make on you and create counter-measures. You can be friendly and polite to them. However, you should always be careful about what information you give them. This will prevent them from spreading gossip about you. Understanding the political environment in an office is another way to be positive. Which administrators can be helpful and optimistic? Which one of your coworkers has authority but doesn't want to use it? Which of your coworkers is fond at using others for their own purposes? Who are your office heroes and champions Are you in a predominantly negative or positive political climate? You need to identify your enemies and allies at work and develop relationships with them. But, you shouldn't take sides if it is possible. Antagonizing coworkers can lead to antagonizing and worsening of foul play. Be supportive of others and as helpful as you can. No one can ever accuse you of not doing your best. You must always give your best to everyone. No one can say anything negative about you and it will affect your credibility and political influence. You will play defensively in your office, which means you won't be attacked as often. If your defenses fail and you are fired, good words from your administration, who will no doubt consider you an asset in the future, will help you get a job. If you play as if everyone is winning, then everyone will win. However, if your goal is to make everyone lose, you'll lose. The workbook contains more sample content. You can customize it to meet your needs.
