Grow Herbs in Turfgrass

Turn your lawn into a source of wellness for you and habitat for your pollinator friends.

During this class, you will take home all the knowledge, publications, seeds and inspiring ideas needed to successfully and enjoyably grow a variety of herbs in your lawn. We’ll discuss herbs that are tolerant of mowing and trampling along with how and when to seed them into your turf. Harvesting and using the herbs will also be discussed.

Free seed packets of herbs will be provided to all attendees.

Yummy food is generously provided by New Pioneer Co-op.

Masks are optional for fully vaccinated people and 6' distancing is still recommended.

LOCATION
We meet at the Edible Classroom on the south side of the Robert A. Lee Community Center, 220 South Gilbert Street, Iowa City.

EXPERIENCED TEACHER
Taught by Fred Meyer, permaculture designer and Master Gardener. Fred’s years of garden design experience will help you answer questions about specific challenges and opportunities in your garden.
