Grow Herbal Tea

A cup of tea can be medicine for the mind, body and soul. We could all use a good dose of that kind of medicine these days.

During this class, you will take home all the knowledge, publications and inspiring ideas needed to successfully and enjoyably cultivate delicious tea plants that also feed birds and pollinators. We will meander and create simple drinks by blending freshly picked herbs.

Please bring a personal cup or thermos for drinking hot tea.

COVID-19
Masks are optional for fully vaccinated people and 6' distancing is still recommended.

REGISTRATION
Fee: $5 per family (up to 4 people)

LOCATION
We meet at the Edible Classroom on the south side of the Robert A. Lee Community Center, 220 South Gilbert Street, Iowa City.

EXPERIENCED TEACHERS
Taught by Fred Meyer and Jen Kardos, happy gardeners at Backyard Abundance.
• Jen leverages her knowledge as a horticultural therapist and functional medicine health coach to help you understand the wellness benefits of gardening and the specific health properties of each plant.
• Fred’s offers years of experience as a permaculture designer and Master Gardener to answer questions about specific challenges and opportunities in your garden.
