THIS TRAINING IS ONLY OPEN TO INVITED PARTICIPANTS
The Green Dot Strategy is a new and innovative approach to violence prevention. Green Dot harnesses the power of individual choices to shift social norms, resulting in broad-based culture change. Green Dot is based on a wealth of interdisciplinary research including social change theory, diffusion of innovation, communication, marketing, bystander intervention, and perpetration patterns. This 4-day training certifies attendees to implement the Green Dot Violence Prevention Strategy on their college campus. Components of the training include:
- A comprehensive review of the research and theories which inform the Green Dot Strategy.
- Elements of the Green Dot Strategy and curriculum.
- Developing an implementation plan.
Attendees experience an interactive and intriguing 4 days of training which inspire renewed hope and a vision for a safer world.
PARKING
There are several free parking lots on campus. These free lots sometimes fill up quickly, so you have the option of purchasing a student parking pass to use during the training. This pass will allow you to park in any S lot (blue lot) on campus.
The cost is $10 (cash only) for the entirety of Green Dot training, and you must reserve your pass in advance. On the morning of the training, we will have the passes ready for pick up at the training venue approximately 30 minutes before the training begins.
You must attend the entire training (9am to 5pm daily) to become a Green Dot College instructor.
