THIS TRAINING IS ONLY OPEN TO INVITED PARTICIPANTS: This training is limited to staff and faculty of The Univesity of Alaska Fairbanks and their surrounding community partners. To attend this training you must be a staff or faculty member at The Univesity of Alaska Fairbanks, staff or faculty at another local school that regularly partners with The Univesity of Alaska Fairbanks on prevention efforts, or staff of a community-based agency in the city where The Univesity of Alaska Fairbanks is located.

The Green Dot Strategy is an innovative approach to violence prevention. Green Dot harnesses the power of individual choices to shift social norms, resulting in broad-based culture change. Green Dot is based on a wealth of interdisciplinary research including social change theory, diffusion of innovation, communication, marketing, bystander intervention, and perpetration patterns. 2/15 - 2/17 - 3 Day College Training
2/18 - 2/19 - 2 Day Educator Bootcamp for Previously Trained Instructors

3 DAY COLLEGE TRAINING
Monday February 15th - Wednesday February 17th

This 3-day training certifies attendees to implement the Green Dot Violence Prevention Strategy on their college campus. Components of the training include:
§  A comprehensive review of the research and theories which inform the Green Dot Strategy.
§  Elements of the Green Dot Strategy and curriculum.
§  Developing an implementation plan.

Attendees at the Green Dot Institute experience an interactive and personally challenging training that is designed to inspire renewed hope and a vision for a safer world.

You must attend the entire training (9am to 5pm daily) to become a Green Dot College instructor.

2 DAY EDUCATOR BOOTCAMP
Thursday February 18th - Friday February 19th

The instructor Bootcamp is an opportunity for recently trained instructors in the Green Dot curriculum to recieve skill-building and coaching in order to master the Overview Talk and the Bystander Training. The workshop consists of ongoing practice and feedback sessions that allow for quick mastery and a solid foundation to begin presentations.
