Green Dot College Training - Union College

THIS TRAINING IS ONLY OPEN TO INVITED PARTICIPANTS: This training is limited to staff and faculty of Union College and their surrounding community partners. To attend this training you must be a staff or faculty member at Union College, staff or faculty at another local school that regularly partners with Union College on prevention efforts, or staff of a community-based agency in the city where Union College is located.

The Green Dot Strategy is a new and innovative approach to violence prevention. Green Dot harnesses the power of individual choices to shift social norms, resulting in broad-based culture change. Green Dot is based on a wealth of interdisciplinary research including social change theory, diffusion of innovation, communication, marketing, bystander intervention, and perpetration patterns. This 4-day training certifies attendees to implement the Green Dot Violence Prevention Strategy on their college campus. Components of the training include:

§  A comprehensive review of the research and theories which inform the Green Dot Strategy.
§  Elements of the Green Dot Strategy and curriculum.
§  Developing an implementation plan.

Attendees experience an interactive and intriguing 4 days of training which inspire renewed hope and a vision for a safer world.

You must attend the entire training (9am to 5pm daily) to become a Green Dot College instructor.
