My name is Mike McBrayer, Athletic Director and Head Coach of the Grayson College Softball team, and I am here to tell you 2021 has been a great year for the Lady Viking Softball team.  It is my hope that this letter finds you and yours safe, well, and excited about this upcoming softball season.

The softball season begins in February of 2022 at Grayson College.  I am reaching out to you for consideration of sponsorship of the team or a player (s).  In order to build on the successes of last year’s team and to compete for the conference, regional championships, and national titles, the softball team needs your help.  This year, the Viking softball team has a goal to raise $10,000 to help defray the cost of uniforms, bats, spikes, batting helmets, and bat bags.

There is excitement about this year’s team, and we expected to, once again compete for the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Championship, National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Regions V North Championship and the National Junior College World Series Championship.

This past year the softball team was National Junior College World Series runner-up; however, the accomplishment that I am most proud of is graduating our sophomores and the team GPA.  Last years’ team had a GPA of 3.2 on a scale of 4.0.

Several of our players have gone on to four-year universities to continue their education and playing careers.  Listed below are the college Lady Vikings will be playing for next year:

Southern Arkansas University

Midwestern State

Arkansas Tech University

Our Lady of the Lake

College of Idaho

University of Texas-El Paso

Providing quality equipment and uniforms for the softball program is costly and at times a challenge. A gift of $500 will fully equip one Lady Viking:

·         One Pullover

·         Game socks

·         Bat bag

·         One pair of softball spikes

·         One pair of softball turf shoes

·         Batting Gloves

·         Batting helmet

By sponsoring a Lady Viking Softball player, you are providing much need equipment for that player and the team.  All gifts are appreciated and will be specifically designated for use by the Lady Viking softball team.

Please consider sponsoring a Lady Viking player(s), a specific piece of equipment, or the team by filling out the attached form and returning it in the enclosed reply envelope.  Please make your sponsorship gift should be made out to the Grayson College Foundation.  You will receive a charitable gift receipt for your gift.
