     Own a handheld GPS, or thinking about purchasing one? Learn to get the most out of your GPS unit in this fun and imformative course. Students will spend the morning portion in the classroom learning the functions of modern GPS receiver units, then spend the afternoon on the largest land navigation course East of the Mississippi, in our 11,000 acre training location inside the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, where you will navigate cross-country and perform several tasks with your GPS unit, and even discover the fun of Geocaching!. This is a great course for anyone who loves the outdoors! Some of the topics we will be covering will include:

*GPS Satellite Constellations and Receiver Systems

*latitude & Longitude, UTM, MGRS, & Map Datums

*GPS Configuration & Set-up

*Waypoints, Routes, and Tracks
