This training will serve to educate professionals on research-informed best practices when working with transgender or gender nonconforming (TGNC) clients or co-workers, with an emphasis on respect of individual identity, research-informed understandings of gender and sex, and the role of advocacy in empowering our TGNC clients.  This content will be presented through an intersectional lens, highlighting how misogyny, racism and poverty can cause increased dangers for trans and gender-nonconforming clients, particularly in home country.  At the end of the training, attendees should feel more comfortable interacting with and advocating for TGNC clients and colleagues.
