THE GARDEN GURU PROGRAM
Through October, gardening experts will regularly attend three Iowa City public gardens to answer questions and teach gardening hands-on. Look for their bright peach t-shirts!

Wetherby Park Edible Forest
2nd and 4th Sundays of each month, 4:30 – 5:30 pm

Edible Classroom: Robert A. Lee Rec Center
1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, 4:00 – 5:00 pm

Chadek Green Park Community Garden
2nd and 4th Friday of each month, 5:30 – 6:30 pm

The experts will help gardeners...
• Increase yields in vegetable and herb gardens
• Successfully grow fruit trees and berry bushes
• Grow habitat for pollinators and birds
• Explore ways gardens can reduce the impact of climate change

CLIMATE-FRIENDLY GARDEN CONTEST
To promote climate change mitigation, the Garden Guru program also features a climate-friendly garden social media contest. The contest inspires neighbors to create spaces and follow practices that help to reduce the impact of climate change.

Through October, participants can post pictures or videos of their climate-friendly gardening practices to social media sites, with the #ClimateFriendlyGarden tag. Contestants will be entered into a weekly drawing for a *$25 gift card* to Earl May Garden Center.
