The Sandusky County Prevention Partnership Coalition will be hosting a session for local professionals and community members. This training "Gambling Disorder Treatment and Community Awareness Overview" will include an overview of gambling expansion in Ohio. Screening and assessment options to better identify clients at risk for problem gambling in existing mental health and substance use disorder caseloads will be discussed. Other topics that will be discussed are:

  • Evidence based treatment modalities as well as helpful tips on engagement of clients
  • The Role of the gambling industry and Voluntary Exclusion Programs as well as the advocacy group Problem Gambling Network of Ohio and the National Council on Problem Gambling
  • Introduction of the Before You Bet awareness campaign; navigating the website and exploring the resources available through the Community Toolkit

Presenters are Stacey Frohnapfel-Hasson, Chief Bureau of Problem Gambling and Scott Anderson, Problem Gambling Specialist-- both from Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services
