FUN HOME

Proud Mary Theatre Company presents our first musical: the South Carolina community theatre premiere of “Fun Home” with a LIVE ORCHESTRA.

MARY FLASH: THE FARMER'S TABLE FOOD TRUCK will be available for All evening shows: Thursday-Saturday, June 13-15 from 5:30 -8 p.m.

This Tony Award-winning musical based on the best-selling graphic novel by Alison Bechdel runs June 7-16 in the Venue at the West Main Artists Co-Operative.

This groundbreaking and heartwarming musical depicts the author at three different ages as she recalls growing up in her family’s FUNeral home, her first year of college, and her relationship with her father.

“Fun Home” is directed by Kate Roark, who helmed Proud Mary’s “5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche” and “Spamalot” at Spartanburg Little Theatre.

And Musical Director Janice Issa Wright (“The Rocky Horror Show,” “Spring Awakening,” “Urinetown” at The Warehouse Theatre”) will conduct our live orchestra.

Thursday, June 13 is PAY WHAT YOU CAN THURSDAY. You can pay at the Door or guarantee a seat by paying regular price on Eventzilla.

“Fun Home” runs June 7-16, 2019 at the West Main Artists Co-Operative, 578 West Main St. in Spartanburg. For more information, visit www.proudmarytheatre.com. Shows are Friday-Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 pm. and Thursday, June 13 at 8 p.m. (PAY WHAT YOU CAN THURSDAY)

The mission of the Proud Mary Theatre Company, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit and non-professional theatre, is to present LGBTQ+ voices and stories in Spartanburg and the entire Upstate region of South Carolina through theatrical plays: compelling dramas, rib-tickling comedies, campy musicals, and local original works and avant-garde pieces that celebrate diversity and tolerance.
