Better Life Studios, 390 Dupont St. Suite 201, Toronto, Ontario, M5R 1V9, Canada.

Come and co-create a ceremonial circle of sound, healing and awakening. We will drum, chant and move together inside a safe and sacred container of connection, release, and positive intention.

We will gather on the Full Wolf Moon in Cancer, an auspicious time when a lot of emotional energy can rise up, because of both the lunar eclipse, which happens the same day, and because Cancer is the sign of emotion.

Full moons focus our attention on our relationships, on our homes and families, but even more so when accompanied by a lunar eclipse. It is also a time when our instincts become even more focused, helping us pay better attention to our needs and intentions. This helps us notice any disharmony caused by relationship imbalances, and we can put the emotions that come up to good use by letting them motivate us to act.

Cancer also rules the family and the home, so it's a good time to summon the energy and motivation to finalize projects at home, plan family events and gatherings, and have those difficult conversations that we have put off until now.

In many traditions the wolf is a powerful ally, as hunter and tracker, because it can help us summon extra courage, determination and resolve, a hunger even, to manifest our dreams in 2020 and improve our lives, our health, our relationships, and our careers.

The wolf also helps us to release, sometimes with a great howl (or several!), stuff we have been keeping inside, things we weren't quite ready to let go of. This can speed up our soul journey by creating space to bring in the enlightening truths, or other resources, that we need to realize to keep moving forward, and to speed up our evolution.

Come and be guided to express yourself, to open your heart, to connect with your emotions and to work and feel at home in yourself. Align with others of like minds and hearts to experience and be empowered by shamanic drumming practices. We will create sacred space by smudging, honouring the traditional stewards of this land, the four directions, grandfather sky, grandmother earth, and our spirits. We will drum and sing medicine songs from the modern shamanic tradition - the rainbow tribe that welcomes seekers from all backgrounds. We will release what no longer serves us, and invite something new into the space we have created.

We will drum and move through the elements, and drum with intention to attract what our hearts and spirits desire. We will go deep to help us envision what we want to bring to life in the year to come, for ourselves, our relationships, our communities and our planet. We will send those visions on waves of sound and intention out into the universe.

We will connect and support each other with rhythm, voice and vibration, and create community in a sacred circle. This will be a unique drum circle, as it will be facilitated to gently guide you through transformative experiences. This is not a typical un-facilitated drum circle, many of which have blossomed in the GTA - they can be a lot of fun, but this circle will take you deeper, into sacred space.

Please bring an intention, a journal and pen for insights received, and a drum or rattle if you have one. All percussion instruments are provided, but please bring a favourite drum if you have one. A variety of frame drums and hand drums will be available on a first come first served basis, but we will have a drum for everyone.

No experience is necessary, and this event is family friendly and open to all ages and abilities. As we are gathering in sacred space, the consumption of alcohol and drugs is not permitted.

Rufus Glassco is a drum circle facilitator who specializes in drumming for health and wellness. He has been studying modern shamanic practices and shamanic coaching for the past 7 years through the Institute of Shamanic Medicine, and with Sandra Ingerman in the US. He’s also been learning from curanderos and chamanes for even longer in Mexico, where his wife Dinora is from. He believes that everyone, regardless of bloodline or ethnic origin, can access the knowledge and practice of Shamanism, because it connects us to our ancestors. If you go far back enough in time, all of us had ancestors who lived in greater harmony with the natural world, and were able to better communicate with, and benefit from the connection to, the natural and spiritual worlds.
