Agents are not inspectors, nor do they want to be. But it is helpful for agents to have a basic knowledge of the products they sell. The objective is simply to help agents to be aware of and to recognize issues and to know who to call if the red flag is raised.
Home Buyers typically have a list of features they are looking for. But there are many characteristics that most buyers will agree ARE extremely important to them, but are often not stated on that list. For example:
1. Indoor Air Quality – Most people spend 12+ hours per day in their homes; home owners expect to live in a home where they can breathe healthy air.
2. Comfort – home owners expect to be comfortable in their homes; nobody wants a “cold” room that they can’t use during the winter, or a “hot” room that is uncomfortable in the summer.
3. Low Maintenance – Beware the money pit. There are often hidden problems that don’t rear their ugly heads until after the sale.
In this course, attendees will learn to look “beyond the granite”. They will learn to recognize warning signs of problems with moisture, mold, radon, energy efficiency, and excessive repair costs. Also, they will better understand when to recommend a specialist, what types of specialists are qualified to help them with their problems, what types of testing can specialists conduct, and what does the testing mean?
