Foster Care Training Part 1: Intro to Child Welfare & Coming Into Care
This training has been designed for new and prospective foster care parents. You can expect to be introduced to the child welfare system, the key professionals in the system, and the child's experience coming into foster care. In addition, this introduction will provide a clear comparison of traditional foster care and the safe families approach. Participants should leave with an understanding of the child welfare system and how to understand children in that system.
This training qualifies as 8 hours of credit toward foster care license certification and recertification, as well as the annual training requirement.
Lunch will be provided for participants.
