Come meander and munch with us!

Prairiewoods and Backyard Abundance are offering you a fun afternoon of foraging for wild and cultivated edibles.

Facilitators Jen Kardos and Fred Meyer will teach you to identify the most common wild edibles found in urban backyards, as well as cultivated herbs and berries integrated into Prairiewoods’ Garden of Eat’n.

Create and sample easy, delicious snacks and drinks by blending your foraged bounty with familiar vegetables and herbs. Recipes, informational handouts and book recommendations will be provided. Planned dishes include a detoxing greens drink, foraged pesto and a Juneberry crisp.

Please come dressed for hands-on, outdoor learning. The class will cover a lot of ground, so let us know at registration if you have mobility needs. The cost is $10, and registration and payment are required by June 22.

Backyard Abundance is an educational nonprofit that helps people create environmentally-beneficial landscapes.
