Beer Warehouse, 1302, Floresville, TX, 78114, United States.

Wilson County’s Trail de Flores Chapter of the El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail

Association, in coordination with the City of Floresville, will be holding a National Trails Day

event along the Floresville Hike and Bike Trail. The American Hiking Society established

National Trails Day to be celebrated on the first Saturday of June each year as a day of service

and advocacy for hometown trails. Floresville is home to the longest hike-able/bike-able

section of the El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail, which runs through the city on

the bed of the old San Antonio - Aransas Pass rail line. This historic route, also known as La

Bahia Road, played a central part in the development and growth of the Floresville and

surrounding communities.

This year’s event will be held at the Beer Warehouse (1302 South 2 nd St) on Saturday, June 5 th

from 10am to noon. The event will include a brief ceremony to recognize those who have

advocated and cared for the local trail, a guided hike along the trail, and information displays

and handouts that reflect on the history of the trail and future trail development plans. Come

on by to learn about your trail and to let us know how you think the trail should grow to best

serve the community. For more information you can contact the chapter at (830) 321-0244 or

via e-mail at traildeflores@gmail.com
