This session is designed for district leaders, school leaders, RTI coordinators, and school psychologists. This is a second offering of this content presented in Spring 2016 and will be presented by Theresa Nicholls and Joanna Bivens.

The implementation of RTI² presents a great opportunity to collaborate for the success of all students; however it also creates the potential for procedural violations under the IDEA.  In this training, participants will learn five tips that can be used to support school personnel in avoiding procedural violations within an RTI framework.  In particular, participants will:

  • Develop an understanding of the risk for procedural violations within RTI
  • Review existing case law related to procedural violations and RTI implementation
  • Gain consultative strategies to support school personnel in effective data based decision making
  • Learn how to respond appropriately to requests for evaluations

The session will be hosted by the Upper Cumberland Center of Reagional Excellence - 242 East 10th Street, Foundation Hall - 2nd floor, Cookeville, TN. You may park in the purple lot with a TTU parking pass. A parking pass can be printed here - http://bit.ly/2joCRXu. ·     You may also park across the street at the church.
