Bringing Your Best: Mindfulness Strategies for Staff and Student Wellbeing

Focusing and managing emotions doesn't need to be so stressful--for you or your students!  In this hands-on workshop for Out-of-School Time professionals, contemplative educator and teaching artist Mitchell Bowman will work with participants to explore how essential mindfulness practices can provide a practical toolkit for helping you and your students to be peaceful and productive.  Participants will explore simple, science-backed practices they can integrate into their work lives and classrooms to help everybody bring their best selves.  Every participant will also leave with SEL resources for teaching students about mindfulness.

Mitchell Bowman, M.A.Ed., is the Director of Out-of-School Time Programs for Creative Action in Austin, TX and the creator of Social Creativity, a contemplative arts program for youth with special needs.  He has been working with youth and educators as a multi-disciplinary teaching artist and instructor for 8 years.  Mitchell is also a musician, filmmaker, creativity coach, mindfulness guide, and educational consultant with experience leading professional development for artists, teachers, and administrators
