The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is pleased to announce Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) Training. This class is offered free of charge, and is open to all personnel who work with or are involved with the UCR NIBRS Program. This training will be provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigastion (FBI) Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Training and Advisory Process Unit.

Date:  August 15, 2017, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and August 16, 2017 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Students must attend both sessions to receive a certificate of completion. Registration will start at 7:30 AM. A one hour lunch will be on your own.

Hosted by:  Broomfield Detention Center, 11600 Ridge Parkway, Broomfield, 80021. Registration is open to the first 100 students on a first come, first served basis. Those that register after the first 100 students will need to request to be placed on a wait list. Each student requesting to attend will need to complete their OWN registration. Please do not register anyone except yourself, as we will be sending e-mails to all attendees pre and post training. If you register for someone else, the registration will be cancelled. 

Class Details:  The session will include training developed by the FBI UCR Training and Advisory Unit and will be a full 2 (two) days.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Classification and Scoring
  • Separation of Time and Place Rule
  • Acting in Concert Rule
  • Group A Offenses - Crime Against Person, Property, and Society
  • Group B Offenses
  • Location Codes
  • Property Codes
  • Data Elements and Values

 

This class will instructed by Mr. Greg Swanson of the FBI CJIS Training and Advisory Process Unit.

Once you have attended the class, you will be directed to take a 10-20 question exam.  After the successful completion of the exam, the student will be issued a certificate of completion. 

PLEASE NOTE:  Due to the strong interest in this class, we will adhere to a strict 2 (two) person per agency limit. Agencies who did not attend the FBI UCR NIBRS training in August 2016 will be permitted to attend this training. This class will have assigned seating.
