This is an opportunity to draw closer to your 13-16 year old son and give him a safe but challenging initiation experience.
There is an African proverb that says, “If the youth are not initiated, they will burn down the village.” Witnessing the dysfunction in society, especially in our politics, maybe it is time to once again return to this wisdom practice for the benefit of our sons, as well as for the benefit of society and the world.
Please bring a snack to share for Sunday evening. Meals provided are Sunday breakfast and lunch. You may also want to bring bug spray and clothing appropriate for mid September.
