Experiential Farm Learners will help with all aspects of building and maintaining this landscape, from morning nursery, greenhouse, and animal chores, to weekly food gathering sessions, and general enhancements of the ecology of the site. Hands-on learning is supplemented with informal talks on permaculture design and ecology. For people who are searching for deep immersion in a landscape with access to people who have over a decade of permaculture design, this program is a great fit.

We offer a one month stay which includes lodging on Duck Willow, three farm meals a day, and the full immersion experience for $600 USD. For people staying less than a month, the cost is $25 per day. For people who book two or more months at once, the price is reduced to $450 per month, to encourage longer stays and deeper connection.

The Experiential Farm Learning Program is designed to encourage long term stays and create a true immersive experience inside a new cultural design. Duck Willow is about sustainability first, with a focus on growing all of the calories needed to feed everyone who helps on the farm. After over a decade of growing food, we feel well equipped to achieve these goals and show others how to do the same in their own climate. Our plan revolves around our own magic dozen, the 12 or so plants that can feed us and grow very well with very little attention or inputs. In our climate, this includes Malanga (or Taro Root), Turmeric, Sweet Cucumbers, Tree Tomatoes, Bananas, Mulberries, Limes, Avocados, Passion Fruits, Guiskil, and Ducks. This system, which leverages aquaculture for additional production of fish, snails, and duck feed (algaes and water ferns), and a few gardens beds is a fully stacked sustainable system that provides for all.
