Markus Farner begann seine Karriere in der Luftfahrt 1983 bei der Charterfluggesellschaft BALAIR. Mit Aus- und Weiterbildungen in der Luftfahrt sowie in der Umwelt- und Energietechnik setzte er seine Karriere in der Luftfahrttechnik bei Jet Aviation fort. Mittlerweile ist seit über 14 Jahren beim BAZL.
Die Rechtsdurchsetzung ist Teil der sicheren Integration von Drohnen in das Schweizer Aviatiksystem. Daher ist Markus Farner Mitglied der Arbeitsgruppe für Drohnen im Konkordat der Kantonalen Polizeikommandanten (KKPKS).
Auf internationaler Ebene vertritt Herr Farner die Schweiz in der Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on unmanned Systems (JARUS), wo er die Arbeitsgruppe leitet, die für die Entwicklung der Lufttüchtigkeitsanforderungen für Drohnen zuständig ist.

Philipp Piber wurde 1985 in Graz geboren. In seinem Studium der Volkswirtschaftslehre an der Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien, das er 2010 abgeschlossen hat, hat er sich auf Innovationsökonomie spezialisiert. Seine Diplomarbeit über Innovationsnetzwerke in Österreich hat er im Rahmen des Innovation Economics Vienna Programms am Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) verfasst. Nach einer Zeit als Universitätsassistent am Institut für Außenwirtschaft und Entwicklung an der WU Wien, wechselte er in das Bundesministerium für Finanzen. Dort hat er als Referent für Budget- und Wirtschaftspolitik den Staatssekretär Andreas Schieder beraten. Von 2014 bis 2016 hat er als persönlicher Berater der Ministerin bzw. des Ministers die Themenbereiche Luftfahrt, Telekommunikation und digitale Infrastruktur im Bundesministerium für Verkehr, Innovation und Technologie betreut. Ab 2016 leitete er als Bereichsleiter der Luftfahrtagentur die luftfahrbehördlichen Agenden in der Austro Control GmbH. Von Juli 2019 bis September 2020 baute er das Drone Competence Center auf und seit September 2020 leitet er als Abteilungsleiter die Luftfahrtbehörde.

Veronica Scho¨mer took her first steps into aviation almost 20 years ago in a glider club. She gained more than 14 years of experience in commercial aviation as first officer on Boeing 737 and senior first officer on Boeing 747. She holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
With her bachelor thesis on Confidential Safety Reporting as a starting point, Veronica strives for the adaption of safety concepts known from commercial aviation to the rapidly evolving and diverse drone industry. She is member of the workgroup UAS+ of the German airline pilots association.
