Join Louisiana's hottest performers and personalities for an event that's FREE for the whole family. Summer Lit Fest began as a small event for Poets and local performers to have a platform during Essence Weekend. It has grown into a mega fest for entertainment and family oriented fun! College and High School students get a chance to hangout and so do the kids. Colleges set up tables in the lobby to inform students about their universities. Local organizations and network groups attend as well. Perfect for youth groups and family participation.
This year's guests include 5th Ward Weebie, Fiend, Comedian Blowfish, Reggie Robinson from the hit TV Show "Queen Sugar" (Season 2), Caren Green, Casme, Lucky Lou, Shack Brown, Miss Southern University Baton Rouge, Miss Dillard, Miss Grambling, the Elev8 Step Team from Southern, UPHY Step Team from Grambling, Nebu Neezy from Lafayette, LA, and Radio DJ's: Joe Dupree, Miss Chelsea Brown, Scooter & Hot Boy Yoshi, and special guest Comedian Shack Brown.
