ESC Encounters: Istvan Borbas

 

ESC and BFM are very proud to host another session of ESC Encounters masterclasses, this time with a very unique artist – cinematographer Istvan Borbas, who has shot the groundbreaking films of Roy Andersson.

 

Masterclass takes place in BFM Nova cinema on 24th of September.

For refreshing the participants’ memory on his films, there will also be a screening of “Songs from the Second Floor” on 20th of September at 18.00 in BFM Nova cinema.

Schedule of the masterclass from 12.00 to approximately 16.00

1. Screening of “A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence”.

2. Istvan will go through projects that he has made for customers, screening some of the commercials he has shot for Roy Andersson and discussing the background of these works.

3. Showing and discussing parts of “Something has happened” (english subs)

4. Screening “World of glory”; showing sketches and and talking about the work process.

5. Discussion of a "Pigeon sat on a branch...", showing Roy Andersson’s sketches, behind the scenes, discussion about the work process, their aims and such. Followed by q&a.

 

The participation of the masterclass is free, but to secure a seat, participation needs to be registered.

Registration does not cover the film secreening on 20th September, which is for free, but first come first served basis. 

NB! Please don't be late!

The language of the masterclass is English.
