Enforcing the Energy Code— Commercial Buildings is an interactive workshop on enforcing the Energy Code through plan review and on-site inspection.  For the plan review portion of the course, attendees will work in small groups to troubleshoot compliance using mock plans and specifications, typical of residential building permit applications.  A training instructor will facilitate discussion and lead question and answer.

This workshop may be used to earn credit for the Energy Code Enforcement Training high-impact action under NYSERDA’s Clean Energy Communities program. Minimum requirements for a community (0-39,000 population) to get credit for completing the Energy Code Enforcement Training:

1. Complete both the residential and commercial workshops, all of which are listed at: https://www.nyserda.ny.gov/All-Programs/Programs/Clean-Energy-Communities/Energy-Code-Enforcement-Training

2. At least one code enforcement official must attend the workshops

3. After completing both workshops, submit the notice of completion email to http://nyserda.ny.gov/cec-documentation
