10AM Pre-Hab 4 Runners Partial Approval - Free

Reduce injury, gain strength, get more out of your mileage! Whether you're a novice or avid runner, the importance of strength training cannot be overstated. Many runners are injured frequently and most will experience some type of overuse stress. Pre-hab for Runners is designed to work the most common areas that runners experience issues. Too often runners wait until the doctor recommends 6 to 8 weeks of physical therapy before we consider resistance exercises. By adding in simple exercises to the training schedule we can extend our running career.

Improving strength and running form with the use of functional strengthening exercises and drills is the number one way to improve running efficiency and decrease risk of injury. 2:30PM Yoga Nidra- An Intro to Relaxation & Meditation Partial Approval - Free

Meditation has been proven by science to be beneficial to our health on multiple levels and is often a practice that wellness seekers want to incorporate into their daily routines. However, once they begin, they find stillness hard to come by and focus a fleeting ideal. Meditation, like any skill, needs to be built upon a strong foundation. Learn to avoid the typical pitfalls of beginner meditators while fostering a connection to the mind’s inward journey that is essential for a satisfying experience. We will discuss the importance of the meditation seat and posture to create ease in the body. Then, using the ancient technique of yoga nidra, or yogic sleep, we will fully relax the body in order to induce a mindset conducive to meditation. We will end with a short meditation using the skills we’ve learned.

Want to make sure you get into your favorite EmpowHer classes.  Here's your chance!  You will need to purchase an event ticket and then register for one class per hour time slot.  If there are no-shows in sold out classes, those spots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis!  Some classes require you to bring your own yoga mat, other classes will provide yoga mats.  Please note that a buffett lunch will be served picinic style.  EmpowHer mats will be first come, first serve, we encourage you to bring your own.
