Renton Community Center - Classroom B, 1715 Maple Valley Hwy, Renton, WA, 98057, United States.

This workshop will provide an overview of the Six Seconds framework for understanding emotional intelligence and how it supports professional development. Emotional intelligence is the capacity to blend thinking and feeling to make optimal decisions - which is key to having successful relationships and improved effectiveness. This model provides a framework for learning and action.

The Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence Assessment is scientifically validated, practical measure of emotional intelligence (EQ) that supports an individual’s relational and leadership skills and capacities. As part of this workshop you will take this assessment so that you can see your competency within this emotional intelligence framework. This workshop will guide you into deeper understanding of your emotional intelligence and provide ways and tools to develop your emotional intelligence. Developing emotional intelligence improves effectiveness in leadership, in teams and in relationships, and improves overall well-being and quality of life. In this course, you will learn how to increase your effectiveness by becoming more aware, more intentional, and more purposeful.

Pre-work Requirements: This workshop requires completing a small amount of prework: an online assessment to generate 3 EQ Reports and short reading and worksheet assignments. Once registration is completed you will be sent an email with a link for the assessment and assignments.

Objectives:

  • To learn a framework for emotional intelligence
  • To increase self-awareness (notice what you do)
  • To understand your current emotional intelligence competency via three Brain Profiles
  • To practice ways to continue to increase awareness and be more choiceful as a leader or a team member

Cost of workshop includes:

  • Three (3) Emotional intelligence Reports (received after you take the on-line assessment). Please bring the reports to the workshop
  • Coffee/tea in the morning, a light lunch, and snacks
