Emotional Awareness Training

Get insights into emotions

Emotion can refer to many emotions that can be affected by many factors. It is difficult to define and understand because it covers many concepts from different areas of study, each with its own small- and large intricacies, which would require a long time to learn in their entirety. Although Emotional Awareness training does not teach you how to feel, it will help you understand the fundamentals of emotion. It uses tried and tested methods and/or experiments that have been developed through extensive research and study in the relevant areas.

Self-control and emotional self-awareness are key components to emotional self-control

Although emotions can be difficult to control by their nature, they are necessary for most social settings, including the workplace. It is important to practice and master control to avoid actions that could stifle, stall or disrupt the workplace. Additionally, it is important to find a safe outlet for these emotions so they can be released in a healthy and acceptable manner. Participants can learn to use strategies in high-stress environments. This will enable them to keep their cool and show off their emotions.

Empathize with others and recognize their emotions

Although it can be hard to understand your own emotions, it might be easier to recognize emotions in others. Emotional distress can be identified by body language, voice tone, posture, mannerisms and even eye contact. Participants in the Emotional Awareness Training module are not only expected to seek help for themselves, but for others. This module provides lessons and coursework on how to recognize signs of emotional distress in others, and contingency plans that can be used when confronting or negotiating with them.

Learn how to use emotional etiquette at work and in social situations

Just like every social environment, the workplace has its own set unwritten rules and laws. Everyone who works within its boundaries must adhere to these rules in order to be socially acceptable. This unwritten social contract may seem simple for some, but it is not universal. Emotional Awareness Training's highly qualified staff will teach participants how to navigate the complex rules of the workplace, strategies and techniques to manage their emotions in high-stress situations.

Conduct behavior, decision-making and consequence training

Decisions made under emotional duress are not acceptable. There are also reasons that certain behaviors are not encouraged in the workplace, or in social settings. While some people are well-informed and aware of these quirks, others may not be as well informed and make social faux pas. Emotions can be extremely powerful and can take over one's thinking and rationality and cause them to do something that will have severe consequences for the future, regardless of how long it takes. Part of Emotional Awareness training focuses on analysing certain behaviours and how they affect social settings. Participants will be shown examples of how emotions can impact decision-making and how they can affect one's ability to make good decisions . This also explains how participants can benefit from emotionally charged choices in the long-term.
