Helen Gniel is the Director of TEQSA’s Higher Education Integrity Unit. Dr Gniel joined TEQSA, Australia’s independent national higher education quality assurance agency in January 2021 and brings a broad experience to the role, having worked as a scientist, an academic and as a quality assurance professional, including a previous stint at TEQSA as a Senior Assessment Manager. Most recently Dr Gniel was the Senior Advisor, Quality and Standards at Monash University.

Currently Professor and Vice President Education at Monash University in Malaysia. Beverley has an exemplary and award winning career in education at the highest levels spanning many years both in Australia and the South East Asian region. Whilst starting in the mathematics education field Beverley also has experiences in a wide range of disciplines including Business and Law, Economics, Health Sciences and Engineering. Most recently her teaching experiences are in Epidemiology and Biostatics. Her strong interest in providing transformative student learning experiences in higher education is reflected in her scholarly research for over a decade. Beverley has been successful in securing nationally competitive grants and has over 70 peer reviewed publications. She also has a strong and successful record of Higher Degree by Research supervision. Beverley has held executive roles at Hong Kong University, Melbourne University and more recently as Vice President Academic at RMIT Vietnam. These have provided opportunities for her to build effective teams and lead change in education innovation, to redefine processes and practices for optimum efficiency and outcomes and most importantly improve staff capabilities and morale and the student learning experience.

Paula Moynihan is Director, Food and Health in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, The University of Adelaide and is Academic Coordinator for University’s Industry Engagement Priority in Health & Medical Industries. She is an internationally renowned researcher in the field of nutrition and oral health (> 130 publications, H-index 51 with >16,000 citations). Prof Moynihan is a Public Health Nutritionist and her research focuses on the interrelationship between nutrition and oral health across the life-course. She has supervised PhD students from Malaysia, Brazil, India, Gaza Strip, Iran, Iraq, Egypt and the UK. She is a Past President of the International Association for Dental Research; the World’s premier dental research organisation with approximately 10,000 members world-wide. Prof Moynihan’s research has aligned with the work programme of the World Health Organization (WHO) since 2001, serving as Director of a WHO Collaborating Centre from 2003-2019. Prof Moynihan served as an expert advisor to the WHO Nutrition Guideline Advisory Group Sub-Group on Diet and Health, and her research into sugars and tooth decay underpinned the WHO Guideline on Sugars Intake. She has presented her research at prestigious side meetings of both the World Health Assembly and of the UN High Level Meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases.

Dr Absalom is a national leader in the fields of pharmacogenomics and neuropharmacology. He is an NHMRC-funded laboratory scientist at the University of Sydney currently working in a large collaborative project including basic science and clinical groups at the Danish Epilepsy Centre at Filadalfia hospital and the Florey Institute in Melbourne. His work includes investigating the genetic causes of severe rare epilepsies, adverse events to anti-epileptic treatments, and the development of precision medicine approaches. He has worked at the University of Sydney for the last 10 years after completing a Wellcome Trust Postdoctoral Training Research Fellowship at the University of Oxford and the Medical Research Council, Harwell. He has recently been an invited speaker at the 2019 AuPS National Conference and has multiple publications in prestigious journals including Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences, Epilepsia, Chemical Communications and Journal of Biological Chemistry.

As an alumnus of the Commonwealth Fellowship, she is involved with the works of ACU and other NGOs.
