The East Texas Run returns! We’ll kick off like we do each of our SuperRuns, with a tasty breakfast in Dallas, before we set off on a 40 mile jaunt to a champagne reception at Beacon Hill on Cedar Creek Lake! Here we'll have a beautiful backdrop for our drone to get some great shots of the cars!
Beacon Hill is an upscale, private, resort-like neighborhood development with on-lake, lake view, and marina-access lots. Plans for 2020 include the addition of an on-site winery and cafe, and more! We'll explore the area’s offerings (which include a marina with our own pontoon boats, and, weather permitting, jet skis, custom homes, an air conditioned car barn with a few truly unique machines, and a clubhouse, all amidst sweeping views! Then we’ll set off on a day’s worth of adrenaline-fueled driving adventure!
After we say goodbye to Beacon Hill, we're off on an excellent driving route covering 200+ miles of endless switchbacks, elevations, and Texas views! We'll have lunch for you at the tail end of the first stop, a ride through at a local car show, a bit of a break from the driving when we stop off at an adventure park with a 400 foot zipline, more epic driving, dinner in Tyler, and a police escort to kick it all off!
We’ll wrap up the day's frivolities with an overnight in Canton at the tiny-cabin resort of Mill Creek Ranch! Here, we have controlled parking for our cars, full access to the grand lodge, and everyone gets their own 400 sq ft fully loaded cabin, complete with full bathrooms, kitchens, laundry appliances, and tv! These cabins are full-on tiny houses and have all the amenities we could want, including your own golf cart to navigate between the cabins and a concierge for anything else you might need. For those who want to relax after a long day, that's the night for you. Maybe take a dip into the hot tub or infinity pool? For those who still want some fun, a group will head out to the Forge in Ben Wheeler, only 10 miles from our accommodations! This quintessential East Texas gem is known for live music and great food! Should be a great way to end the night.
Sunday morning, you can make yourself a cup of coffee in your cabin, and wake up to a proper East Texas morning. We'll round up the troops around 9, and have a little get-together in the lodge before we head out.
For those wanting to head home, we're right on I-20, and if you head West, you'll pass Buc-ee's! Be sure to stop there and check out this Texas institution!
For those wanting a little more adventure, after we check out of our cabins, the option is available at no extra charge to head back to Beacon Hill for a second driving route! This route showcases the other side of the lake and will wrap up with lunch before we call an end to the weekend! Expect to head home around 1 or 2 in the afternoon if you choose this option.
This event is poised to be one of the most fun drives of the year! We cannot wait to drive this epic route together!!! See you on the road, and as always, happy driving!!!
