Diversity has been a hallmark of Australia. Although it has not been fully implemented throughout history, the most successful civilisations relied on increased manpower, innovation, and diversity from people of different cultures, races, and religions. The business world also values diversity, so it's not surprising. It is not surprising that the business world values diversity. To exclude one group means you lose an avenue for profit. Teams that can work with different cultures are more likely to succeed. integrating different perspectives and cultures can present new challenges and opportunities. This course addresses this problem in order to help teams be more successful at work.

Diverse Learning Objectives:

Learn what diversity and the related terms are.

We begin the training session by defining diversity and why it's important for a workplace. The trainer reviews the ideas and knowledge of the group members about diversity.

You can increase your awareness of diversity and the areas where you can make improvements.

Learn How the World has Changed Your View and Yours

Stereotyping and media can have a lasting impact on our thinking. This section resets some of your doubts and false information.

Be able to identify your stereotypes

We will discuss stereotypes and how our minds create categories naturally. However, biases that are attributed to stereotypes can have a detrimental effect on our ability to recognize the truth. Participants are taught that while it is normal to categorize information we must be cautious when creating stereotypes.

Learn which terms are politically correct and what aren't, and why

There are instances when statements may be taken outof context or terms that we used before but have become politically incorrect. These factors are discussed and we discuss how to be more aware about which terms can and cannot be used.

Know the four cornerstones that make diversity possible

This session will provide information about the four cornerstones that make diversity possible: acceptance, understanding and behavior.

Learn the dangers of diversity and how to avoid them

We will discuss the pitfalls of diversity and provide information about them. We can then make an active effort to address these areas of concern by becoming more aware.

Create a method for dealing with inappropriate behavior

What should we do if we witness or hear inappropriate behavior at work? This session explains what employees should do. This session can be used to inform your entire team about the workplace procedures within your organization.

To encourage diversity, you need to develop a management style

How can we promote diversity? The trainer will help you find solutions to your workplace so that you can create a diverse workforce.

What to do if your employee feels discriminated against?

This section of training describes the steps taken when someone feels discriminated against at work. If you're interested in running this training session for your company, all material can be modified to fit your needs.
